The Comments tool lets teams share feedback on images and submissions. Use the tool to limit access to internal users or make comments available to both internal and external users.
There are two kinds of comment tools:
- drop a pin on an image
- create a comment thread in the submission
To open the Comments tool, the first step is to open a submission.

Adding image comments with a pin
Users can add comments by dropping a pin on an image. Go to the Design Approval stage and click a submission with an image.
On the next page, click the item that needs a comment.
Click any point on the image to drop a pin. The New Comment panel displays.
Enter text into the comment field.
Note: Check the box if you want to limit access to internal users. Uncheck the box to let internal and external users see the comment.
Adding attachments to an image
Click the clip icon to upload a file from your computer to the comment. (optional)
Click the Create button to add the comment.
Flowhaven adds the pin to the image.
To move the pin location, click and drag the pin to a new location on the image.
Changing the pin style
Go to the top right corner of the page. Click the Comment type button and select a pin style.
Reading image comments
Each pin on an image connects to a comment panel on the right side of the screen.
Responding to an image comment
To reply to a pinned comment, click the Comment panel on the right side of the page, add text to the field, and click Save.
- Click the bottom corner to resize the text field. (optional)
Viewing replies
The Comments panel displays a reply link after a user submits a response.
Click the reply link to read the replies.
Returning to the Submissions stage
Click the arrow at the top of the page. This takes you back to the Submission stage.
Commenting on a submission
You can also create, read, and reply to comments on a submission. Open the submission stage and click the Comments menu tab.
Enter text into the field. If required, check the radial circle to limit distribution to internal users and attach files.
Viewing comments
Other users can read submissions comments. Open the submission, click the Comments menu tab, and scroll through the comments.
